Etihad Airways is a flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the UAE. Etihad commenced operations in November 2003.
The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas, with a fleet of 126 Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Its main base is Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Etihad established its own airline alliance, Etihad Airways Partners in 2015. Etihad and seven other airlines have joined together to offer a combined network of over 350 destinations across the globe. One of the seven partnering airlines is Jet Airways. Etihad owns 24% stake in Jet Airways, partnering with Jet Airways has offered coverage of key destinations in India.

Cabin Classes
Etihad Airways is a full cost carrier and its aircraft cabin is divided into four cabin classes.
The Residence
The Residence is only available on the A380, this cabin class can accommodate one or two people, with an area of 125 sq ft, it has a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. This is a one of a kind suite and is said to be the most luxurious living space in the air.
The Apartments
The First Class Apartments will be a feature of the A380s only, there will be 9 apartments (not seats) configured in a 1-1 across a single aisle. Each apartment will take up a total area of 39 sq ft, this will feature fully reclining seats which will get converted to lie-flat beds, a 24 inch TV monitor, a vanity cabinet and a mini bar.
First Class Suite
First Class Suite will be a feature of the Boeing 787-9s only and this cabin class will have 8 First Class suites. The service will include a reclining lounge chair which converts to a full size lie-flat bed, a 24 inch TV monitor, a personal wardrobe and high sliding doors.
Business Studio
Business Studio will be available on both the A380 and the 787-9. The A380 will have 70 seats in this cabin class whereas the Boeing 787-9 will have 28 seats of this class. This class will feature 22 inch wide fully reclining chair which converts to a lie-flat bed and an 18 inch TV monitor.
Economy Smart Seat
The Economy Smart seat will feature comfortable seats capable of reclining upto 6 inches, Economy will also feature 11 inch touch screens for in-flight entertainment.
