In the vibrant state of Gujarat, is this city of Surat which attracts tourists who are interested in the colonial history of the region and those interested in wildlife. Packed on the south bank of a sharp bend in the Tapi River (Tapti), it is located 306 km south of the state capital, Gandhinagar. This city has the reputation of being light-hearted, easy-going, and fun-loving, with a passion for food. It is an absolutely great place to visit with family and friends and have a memorable trip.

Nice to know
Known as 'the city of flyovers', it is a commercial centre of textiles and diamonds. Surat was once renowed for its silk weaving and brocade. The city still thrives as a textile center, mainly for its polyster fabrics. As the Textile industries declined in Ahmedabad and Mumbai in the 1970s, Surat became one of Gujarat's fastest growing cities and gave rise to several small scale industries.
