VietJet Air or Vietjet, is an international low-cost airline from Vietnam. It was the first privately owned new-age airline established in Vietnam. Sovico Holdings, HDBank, other organisational investors and individual stakeholders, own VietJet Air. The airline's maiden flight was eventually launched on 25 December 2011, flying from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi. Currently VietJet Air flies to 17 domestic destinations and 5 scheduled international destinations from its hubs in Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City and Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi. Codeshare partner is Japan airline and Thai Vietjet. Starting December 3019 VietJet has announced direct flights from Delhi to Vietnam. Commonly knowns as Bikini airline for its risqué promotional stunts will fly from Delhi’s IGI to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on alternate days, effectively operating daily flights between India and Vietnam. The flying time is expected to be around 5 hours. Operating 4 weekly return flight from Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi and 3 weekly flight from Hanoi to New Delhi. VietJet operate a mix of airbus and Boeing. On the India sector Vietjet will be operating A321neo for Ho Chi Minh-Delhi route as the route is more than five hours. Vietjet operates around 400 flights daily, carrying quite 8 crore passengers so far, with 129 routes covering destinations across Vietnam and international destinations. VietJet began operating in December 2011 and has been in the news previously for having bikini-clad air hostesses on certain flights.
