SEATTLE – Cathay Pacific announced plans to debut nonstop service between Hong Kong and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in April 2019. The Port of Seattle welcomed Cathay Pacific’s announcement, made Thursday morning in Hong Kong. Cathay Pacific will become the 10th new international airline to begin service at Sea-Tac Airport since 2016.
Sea-Tac Airport is one of the nation’s fastest-growing large hub airports and is the closest U.S. West Coast gateway to both Europe and Asia. Attracted to our region’s dynamic economy and inclusive values, international airlines continue expanding services at Sea-Tac and currently offer nonstop service to 27 international destinations.
To serve the fast-growing international demand, in August of 2017 Sea-Tac Airport broke ground on a new International Arrivals Facility. The new 450,000 square foot facility will significantly increase space to process arriving passengers, improve baggage pick up, speed transfers for connecting flights, and improve the overall arrival experience.
