Seizing the moment on an island

Getting back to work after superb vacation, life gives better only when you keep thinking about the beautiful serine tranquillity of deep blue water, when thousands of fishes all around you as new friends when nature embraces you to new delights. The sounds of waves are new music to fill your heart, what can be better to ask for a beautiful relaxed life where do you get such an awesome view. When the thought can be smoothing then why not experience this beautiful place it’s our very own Andaman & Nicobar island come along on this magnificent journey as I explore the do’s and happening things around. From being an adventurous junkie to exploring the romantic sunsets shouldn’t we all love life. No hassle for visa all you need is a flight to hop onto; the island with amazing connection comes along as I explore this beautiful paradise!  

Strategically near the Bay of Bengal, between India and Myanmar. Its seafront Cellular Jail completed in 1906 hints at its past as a British penal colony and is now a memorial to Indian independence activists. Surrounded by tropical forest and rugged coastline, lively Port Blair serves as the provincial capital of the Andaman’s. It’s a vibrant mix of Indian Ocean inhabitants – Bengalis, Tamils, Telugus, Nicobarese and Burmese.

Getting to the island is very easy now, most airline now have direct flights or the easiest way is to Chennai and there are many flight from there to the island. Most of the airlines like Indigo, Spice jet, Air India, Jet airways all have flight and connection to the island so it isn’t difficult anymore, but you need to plan your trip and book ahead to make sure you have a seat in high season.
As soon as we landed on the island, we were awestruck by this mystic beauty totally mesmerising the deep blue water, the sound of waves Oh its true beauty!

Day1- On arriving we went to the aqua fun park with water sports (Optional: Jet Ski, Para sailing, and Zorbing ball at extra cost) In the evening proceed to attend the enthralling Sound and Light Show at Cellular Jail – (at 1800 hrs or 1900 Hrs, depending on light and sound show ticket Availability) where the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle is brought alive.

Day2- city touring the island Mount Harriet – the 2nd highest peak in Andaman offering bird’s eye view of Port Blair’s adjoining islands. Lord Mayo, Summer Bungalow of British the summer headquarters of the Chief Commissioner during British Raj, this place provides fascinating views.

Things to see - Cellular Jail, Chatam Saw Mill, Forest Museum, Anthropological Museum, Fisheries (Marine) Museum, Naval Marine Museum (Samudrika). Evening was shopping around like the locals.

Day3 – Havelock Island it’s a 2.5 hr ferry ride to the island knows as the best beach in Asia. Scuba diving or even snorkelling are the highlights of this gorgeous island. Swimming with the fishes or even glass-bottomed boats provides a similar up-close marine life experience. This moment that will change your life and memory that will last forever. Refuel with fresh coconut milk and succulent, delicious seafood which dominates every meal.

Day4- Excursion to Elephant Beach: something that we haven’t experience & totally loved the fun filled activities.

Just 40 min by Boat this beach offers snorkelers calm blue shallow waters and is the perfect spot for beginner snorkelers. Near the beach, corals can be seen and one can even touch the colourful fishes in 4-6 ft. of water. Energetic beach has speed boats, banana boat rides gazing at the sunset or sunrise, bird-watching, trekking, and kayaking. Rich coral reef structure and amazing underwater marine life will certainly spellbind you and want you to keep coming back for more.

Elephant beach is nevertheless the best place to visit in Andaman Islands and you will find a lot of Indians and foreign nationals here. This place is ideal for relaxing spending a leisure time with food and drinks. Gazing at the sunset on the island is something you must not miss, it’s known for best sunset experience.

With a heavy heart it was time to say good-bye to this gorgeous island, but with a provoking thought that we will definitely  come back to visit this beauty. It’s truly said some places change your life - Andaman is one of them!
