The latest update on the cargo says that plans are finalized and it can now be transformed into meeting rooms, a sleeping area, or playground as well.

The recent announcement on the Airbus planes speaks that the future planes could be built with bunk beds and playgrounds.

The aerospace giant with its units in Filton for the designing and making wings for aircraft, has developed a new concept that would transform the way the cargo hold is used on planes.

The idea is to build sleeping quarters, business meeting rooms or children’s play areas and completely transform the space usually occupied by cargo containers.

This interior innovation has gone world famous and bagged an international award for excellence in aircraft interior improvement already.

Airbus has associated with Safran, the Defence and engineering company to create the concept. The extremely novel idea and its plan to make that a reality had been well rewarded by the Crystal Cabin Award of 2019 for their cabin concept. The entire concept is revolving around the possibility of the new passenger modules to be built in a manner so that they were easily interchangeable with regular cargo containers if needed.

Sören Scholz, Airbus senior vice president of the cabin and cargo programme said: “Innovation is our main driver for success, and we are continuously striving to offer the latest innovative solutions to airlines and passengers worldwide.”

“I congratulate the team on their great job and well-deserved success”, he added.

Chief Executive of Safran Cabin Norman Jordan added: “We would like to thank the jury of the Crystal Cabin Award for recognizing the opportunities that the Lower Deck Modules will bring to improve the passenger experience. We look forward to further build on our experience in lower-deck solutions together with Airbus.”

Adding a little information on The Crystal Cabin Award. It is the leading international award for excellence in aircraft interior innovation and is sponsored by the city of Hamburg. Across the eight categories of these, over a hundred ideas were presented and we know the best one in the aircraft interior improvisation category.
