About Udan Scheme

UDAN (which stands for ‘Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik’) which means “Common Man Flies“. is a Regional Connectivity Scheme launched by the government that aims to make unserved/underserved airports in small cities operational with regular flights, and offer subsidized airfares to encourage more people to fly. Under this scheme:
1) Over 45 unserved and under-served airports would be connected to make air travel more affordable
2) 50 per cent of the seats under UDAN scheme would be reserved at INR 2,500 Only
3) 70 routes is proposed to be connected in this year

Offer Fare under UDAN Scheme

Under this scheme, the cost of flight per seat will be approximately @INR 2500 for one hour flight. The approximate distance of such flights is estimated to be 500 kms.

Per Flight Seating Capacity According to the Scheme

The seating capacity in each flight selected for UDAN scheme will range between 19 to 78 and even 50% of the total seats. The price for each seat will be capped to Rs 2500.
