Garuda Indonesia baggage Allowance / Limit
Passengers at Garuda Airlines can enjoy an extra 10kg of baggage on international flights. There’s 50 kg for First Class, 40kg for Business Class and 30kg for Economy Class bags.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage (also called registered baggage) comprises articles which are weighed and carried in the baggage or cargo compartment of the aircraft. They are not accessible to the passengers during the flight. These articles are labeled with special baggage tags showing the station of arrival and a serial number. A portion of this tag is attached to the passenger’s ticket for identification purposes only and must as a rule be surrendered at the station of arrival. Garuda Indonesia has imposed a strict ruling to ensure that each single piece of item or baggage checked-in does not exceed 70 lbs/32 kg.

Cabin baggage
Articles carried in the passenger cabin subject to the passenger’s own supervision and responsibility. These articles are labeled. Cabin baggage may only comprise those articles which are suitable to be carried in the passenger cabin. It may have a maximum length 56 cm, width 36 cm or depth 23 cm, however sum of the three dimensions shall not exceed 115 cm or weight of 7 kg.
Exception for Economy class CRJ and ATR : maximum length 41 cm, width 34 cm or depth 17 cm, however sum of the three dimensions shall not exceed 92 cm or weight of 7 kg.

Note: Special regulations apply for the transportation of fragile, bulky, valuable and diplomatic baggage in the passenger cabin.

Free Baggage Allowance (FBA) for Passenger Travelling Together

When two or more passengers traveling as one party to a common destination point or point of stopover via the same flight, present themselves and their baggage for travelling at the same time and place, they will be permitted a total free baggage allowance equal to the combination of their individual free baggage allowance. Baggage in excess of the combined maximum allowance will be subject to the excess baggage charge.

Garuda Airlines provides a number of options for passengers for your convenience on the check-in process

We advise passengers to check in at the airport at least 1 (one) hour before departure time for domestic departure and 2 (two) hours before departure time for international departure; however, it is even better to arrive at the airport earlier than expected.

City Check-in

City Check-in service is available at Garuda Indonesia Sales Office (domestic or international branch office) which available from 48 to 4 hours before departure time. For flights depart from Terminal 3 Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, check-in counter is closed 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure time.

Web Check-in

Garuda Indonesia Internet Check-in is an alternative check-in provided by Garuda Indonesia for Passenger to simplify check in via website. Available for domestic and international flight. This service is available from 24 hours to 4 hours before departure. Except for departure city of Jakarta (CGK) with domestic destinations, the service is available from 24 hours to 2 hours before departure

Web checking facilities are not available to the following:

Passengers without purchased e-ticket

For infants under 2 years old not occupying a seat

Passengers who need special assistance at the airport e.g.) customer with pregnant condition, children aged less than 12 years old who travel alone, Unaccompanied Minor (UM), require a wheelchair, stretcher case, or other special handling in airport.

Group booking (Passenger booked with more than 9 pax in 1 PNR)

Passengers can check in directly for Garuda Indonesia flight from the comfort of your home/office & the e-boarding pass will directly be sent to the passenger’s mail id.
